A New Year is always exciting bringing in new opportunities, new beginnings and new resolutions. Going into 2022, New York Institute of Beauty would like to reflect on an amazing 2021 (aside from the on-going pandemic of course!). As a Beauty School on Long Island, we have experienced new growth and expansion, we have been able to give back to the community, participated in many amazing events including New York Fashion Week, conducted many webinars and workshops, and were able to continuously offer specialty classes for our students and graduates despite any challenges that came our way!
Expansion
NYIB had amazing growth in 2021 despite the many challenges we all had to face due to the on-going pandemic. NYIB has expanded its offices and staff. We are grateful to have introduced more instructors and administration members. NYIB has been able to transition to a new Distance Learning Style. By offering full-time and part-time schedules, future beauty professionals have endless opportunities to make their passion into a reality.
Giving Back
NYIB participated in a variety of different charities this year. During Breast Cancer Awareness month, the NYIB Make Up Team took part in the World of Pink event at Oheka Castle. This fantastic charity event highlighted cancer survivors and models walking the runway with professional athletes, doctors and more. The Make Up Team had the honor of providing makeup services for the cancer survivors.
During the holiday season, NYIB was able to organize a food drive for Domestic Violence organization, VIBES. Their mission is to support individuals who have struggled with harsh situations, such as domestic and family violence. Giving back to these individuals was life-changing. At the end of the food drive, the NYIB student body and staff had donated over $750 worth of items to VIBES. However, NYIB did not want to stop there. NYIB decided to adopt a family and give the children a Christmas they will always remember.
Makeup Team
Despite the Pandemic, the Make Up Team still took part in a variety of different events this year. Some of the events included Grungy Gentleman x NBA photoshoot, World of Pink Runway, Fashion Week Brooklyn, Indian Fashion Gala, and Indie Drama Series.
This year, the NYIB Make Up Team was honored as an Indie Fashion Gala Recipient. NYIB President, Linda Giardinello, accepted the award at the Indie Fashion Gala this past November. We work hard to provide our students and graduates with the opportunities to enhance their careers within the beauty industry. With the valuable experiences from the Make Up Team, they can network and build a well-rounded portfolio for themselves and get a head start in their beauty careers! Thank you so much to the Make Up Team for always doing an amazing job every time!
Webinars
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, NYIB had to get creative to provide students with unique opportunities. NYIB offered a variety of webinars to further the student’s knowledge within the industry with webinars such as Crystal Clear Digital Marketing, Recent Trends in Cosmetics with Dr. Baharastani, and Understanding laser Technology.
NYIB Workshops
NYIB offered a variety of workshops in 2021! Some of the workshops included, Gua Sha Training, The Perfect Eyebrow, and our famous Zombie Boot Camp. People from all over joined us for these fun events. The goal of these workshops is for the general public as well as students and graduates to learn more about trending techniques in the beauty industry. NYIB follows the latest trends to ensure that students are staying up to date with the newest trends within the industry.
Specialty Classes
This year, NYIB reintroduced and included new enrichment courses for Beauty Professionals. NYIB offered a variety of specialty classes in 2021 including Oncology Spa Solutions, Sugarlash Pro training, and Norvell Spray Tanning and many specialty makeup courses.
Looking into 2022
