As we close another year at the New York Institute of Beauty (NYIB), we take a moment to reflect on the exhilarating events that have marked 2023 as a year of exceptional growth and outstanding achievements.
New York Fashion Week
Kicking off the year with the glitz and glamour of New York Fashion Week in February, our NYIB Make Up Team was backstage, bringing their artistry to life on the faces of diverse models. Working tirelessly over two days, they demonstrated unwavering dedication and passion, which shone through in each brushstroke.
Our participation in The Fashion Life Tour at the Westin in Times Square was a particular highlight. This event, produced by Kiara Belen of America’s Next Top Model fame, provided a platform for designers and emerging models to shine. Our team’s versatility was on full display as they catered to a wide age range of models, crafting looks that complemented the unique designs on the runway.
At the Infinite Exposure Show, held at The Penthouse, our makeup artists teamed up with Long Island Beauty School’s Beauty Design Team to create full-glam looks, complete with dazzling hairstyles. The bold smokey eyes and fierce lips they fashioned matched the vibrant, bedazzled clothing lines, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.
Small Boutique Fashion Week was another stage where our team excelled, working all three shows to accentuate the beautiful designs with equally stunning makeup and hair.
We wrapped up the year with a return to New York Fashion Week in September, solidifying our place as industry leaders in beauty education and service.
Career Fairs and Special Events
June and October’s career fairs were a nexus of opportunity, allowing students to connect with beauty industry professionals, showcasing their skills, and opening doors to future careers.
October also brought thrills with our Zombie Bootcamp. This unique event allowed participants to delve into special effects makeup, creating looks that were both fearsome and fantastic.
