When you are a student at the New York Institute of Beauty, you have the advantage of attending class with some of the most qualified instructors in the area. You can experience hands-on learning opportunities, which allow you to develop your skills as an esthetician or makeup artist. Your education will leave you uniquely prepared for a career in the beauty industry, but that’s not all that the New York Institute of Beauty provides.
Our institution also offers valuable resources to students. We invite all of our students and graduates to take advantage of these resources, as they are designed to help them advance their beauty careers. Examples of the resources we provide include:
- Networking Events — We often plan networking events that allow our students and graduates to mix and mingle with beauty industry professionals. At these events, students can make valuable connections with potential employers and mentors. It’s important that aspiring beauty professionals have connections in the local industry, as this is the key to uncovering the most coveted positions in the region after graduation.
- Career Fairs — Career fairs take networking to the next level. These events are about more than just meeting local professionals. They focus on helping beauty students connect with employers who have positions open at their salons and spas. At the New York Institute of Beauty, we are planning a Career Fair and Expo that will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on June 4. This exclusive event is reserved for our students and alumni only, which gives them the advantage of being seen and heard before any other applicants.
- NYIB Make Up Team Events — We have created the NYIB Make Up Team to allow our students to gain hands-on experience while connecting with industry professionals. We participate in events including but not limiting to New York Fashion Week, photoshoots, film, luxury spa, charity events and so much more! This provides a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience, build a portfolio and resume, and network, while also developing the skills needed to work in a professional setting on a professional level. Many students and graduates include these volunteer positions on their resumes.
At the New York Institute of Beauty, we know that salons and spas are looking to hire up-and-coming beauty professionals who understand the demands of the trade and who have acquired an expert skillset during their education. This is why we strive to provide our students with an innovative curriculum as well as additional learning resources.
