Using Your Zombie Makeup Skills Around Town

If you were lucky enough to attend the New York Institute of Beauty, “Zombie Boot Camp” then you are probably going to want to know some places to go where you can show off your skills. The “Walking Dead” look is all the rage on Halloween night, but there are also some opportunities leading up to the big day itself. So practice your new FX makeup skills in horror application on yourself and even some of your friends can join in on the fun. Everyone knows that a pack of zombies is much scarier than just one. Plus, it will give you a chance to hone your artistry skills during this scary season.

At the rUNDEAD 5K Zombie Run and Fall family festival you can be a part of the scary crowd at Massapequa Field in Long Island on October 22nd. This annual event is for adults and little zombie lovers alike. You can get all kinds of creative with your look during this fundraiser for the Special Olympics. Keep in mind though if you are going to run in the event as a zombie, you better make sure to set your look very well, so that your zombie creation makeup isn’t running down your face. Actually that might make it look even more realistically gruesome.

If you want to have the best makeup at a killer Halloween party, then you better attend Club Mix’s Halloween Party. This is by far Long Island’s most talked about Halloween event and costume contest. More than 5,000 people usually go to this bash that is going on its 10th anniversary. For the theme of this raging good time, it’s “Election Year” naturally this year. So you could even go as a zombie Abe Lincoln if that’s how you want to show your patriotic spirit. You can also win some cash for your work if you do it right on October 29th. Doors open at 10 PM with the spooky fun lasting until the wee hours of 4 AM.

Another party to attend is the “Rocky Horror Picture Show Witches and Whisky” party that takes place at 31 Baker Place. Just make sure your zombie makeup is waterproof since there is an outdoor waterslide by the tiki bar.

The Hempstead House of Horrors takes place during the Halloween season with a haunted house at a castle. This is an opportunity to blend in with the scenery when you go as a zombie in your best undead look. At the Sands Point Preserve Conservatory they have a few weekend dates that you can attend with all the proceeds going to charity. With over 50,000 square feet of haunted thrills you might not get chased around as much by the spooky staff if you go in your zombie attire. You could even scare them if you do your makeup right!
