The website for JLo’s new beauty line promises “that ageless glow” if you use her “liquid gold” secret.
While no one can deny that JLo has certainly aged beautifully (she’s 51 by the way), does her beauty line actually deliver on this promise?
We wanted to know.
That’s why we got hold of the products from JLo Beauty, the anti-aging skincare line just released by Jennifer Lopez, and we tested and reviewed them for ourselves.
Up ahead, you can watch our review and see for yourself what we thought of JLo’s new products. First, here’s a rundown of what to expect.
About JLo Beauty
The entire JLo Beauty skincare line is centered around one product: Olive oil. This is the ingredient that Jennifer says her mother has always relied on for her beautiful skin.
If you’re at all familiar with “the beauty world” on Instagram, you probably already know that this assertion — that olive oil will give you JLo-esque skin — got laughed at quite a bit.
Still, we’re trying for an objective review here, so we’ll give her the benefit of the doubt.
According to the site, JLo’s new products are actually “more than olive oil.” Says Jennifer: “Olive oil isn’t always great for the skin … So how do we take what’s moisturizing and rejuvenating about it, and combine that with other ingredients?”
The result is called Olive Complex, and it’s at the heart of JLO Beauty’s products. This 4-part olive blend includes:
- Olive-derived squalene
- Fermented oil
- Olive leaf extract
- Extra virgin olive oil
The entire line of products includes a number of items — all of which have the name “That ____” For example, there’s That JLO Glow (a multitasking serum), That Hit Single (a gel cream cleanser), and That Fresh Take (an eye cream), among others.
New York Institute of Beauty Alumni, Eugenia Hawk, tried several of these products, and without further ado, here’s her review on JLo’s new products:
