Here comes the winter bride—and she has dry skin and chapped lips. This is a scenario that no bride wants to have happen on her special day. As a bridal makeup artist, your job is to make your clients look picture perfect in spite of cold, windy weather. The following are makeup looks to consider for the winter bride.

Natural Flush

The bride is getting married in the winter, not in the height of summer, so save the bronzer for another time. Choose a base shade of silicone foundation that matches the bride’s winter skin tone and apply after using a hydrating primer. Skin should be clean with a rosy flush that looks natural. Cream blushes are not a bride’s friend in the winter, so opt for a mousse type that isn’t drying. A pale pink lip will look perfect for the bride who wants to achieve an au naturel look that captures her flawless winter glow.

Defined Eyes

A winter wedding is the ideal occasion to get sultry with eye makeup. Eye makeup should be smudge-proof and waterproof in order to last the bride all day. Apply a metallic powder eyeshadow before adding volume to her lashes. Start off with an eyelash curler before tightlining—a technique that uses eyeliner on the waterline of both the top and bottom lids. Finish off with a couple swipes of a dark mascara. Eyebrows can be enhanced with a brush of powder followed by a small amount of eyebrow gel.

Bright Lips

Give her a fairytale look for her winter wedding. A bride may want to add a pop color as a way to give her wedding makeup a bit of drama. Bright shades of lip color look gorgeous on the winter bride. Bright coral, bright red, berry, and even neon pink shades of lip color will assist in creating memorable wedding day photos. Choose hydrating lipsticks that contain beeswax as one of the ingredients. A complementing lip liner shade helps lip color last throughout the day.
