Spring has officially sprung and that means the weather gets warmer, days get longer and most importantly, switching our makeup! When we go from winter to spring our lips tend to get lighter while our skin gets a hint of glimmer and glow. For makeup artists this is a busy time since spring is also known as wedding and prom season.
The New York Institute of Beauty will be hosting a complimentary MUD workshop called “Pretty in Pink for Prom” on May 28th from 6pm-10pm. Makeup artists from the NYIB makeup team along with other makeup artists will attend to learn the tips and tricks for the special occasion. As a makeup artist creating an elegant look for someone’s special day is imperative and it’s at this workshop that you will learn to do so.
Some of the techniques will include how to prep the skin, cover blemishes, and let’s not forget making the girls camera ready. With all the new technology, it’s our job to make sure the client is ready to take a selfie at prom without having to reapply anything. Picking colors based on what they’re wearing and how they’ll wear their hair that night, will go hand in hand when creating their look.
