Learn How to Pull Off Cat Eye Makeup!

When it comes to 2017’s most anticipated makeup trends, the cat eye look is at the top of our list. Just about everybody can pull off this simultaneously sweet and seductive look, yet so many people claim that they just can’t figure out how to do it. It’s no secret that getting a perfectly symmetrical winged liner is nearly impossible, but we believe that, with a little practice and guidance, you can achieve flawless cat eye makeup in no time, and add a little flair to your everyday makeup routine.

The most notable characteristic of cat eye makeup is the winged edges, which give the eyes a bold, cat-eye-like appearance. This look is great for adding a little drama to the eyes, as well as helping them stand out without the need for heavy shadows and other products. In fact, to pull off the cat eye, all you really need is a good liquid eye liner. Okay—having a steady hand doesn’t hurt, either.

Typically, a classic cat eye will start with eyeliner along the top lid that gets thicker as it reaches the outside corners of the lids. Then, it sweeps into a wing on either side. The length of the wings can vary depending on the look you’re going for. And if you really want to amp up the drama, you can top off your cat eye with a dark mascara. Or, start with a base of neutral brown eye shadow on your lids before you do your liner. There are so many ways to pull this look off, so it’s really a matter of experimenting and discovering what looks best on you!
