With summer around the corner, you’re likely to feel bombarded with ads for the latest blockbusters coming soon to theaters on Long Island. Not only can we spend time at the movies escaping the scorching temperatures, we can find plenty of style inspiration. Check out the top four movies coming out this summer and the makeup looks we can’t wait to recreate.
Baywatch
Most people will have their eyes glued to the screen this summer because of Baywatch’s “captivating plot” (read: beautiful actors). However, if you can take a moment from staring at Zac Efron’s abs, you’ll love the natural summer makeup looks of the female cast members. The movie’s makeup artist credits the weather-resistant looks to a makeup balm called Body Coverage Protector. The product allows for a subtle bronze look without any streaking. Tinted moisturizers and cream-based bronzers are additional makeup options to achieve the summer glow. Another Baywatch must have look is a touch of color to the cheeks. To achieve this, use a creamy peach blush. For the lips, use a neutral pink or coral colored gloss with a hint of shimmer. No raccoon eyes at the beach allowed, so only apply mascara to the top lashes.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
The makeup looks from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies are so popular that Lorac has a complete line of products inspired by the films. Keira Knightley’s character, Elizabeth Swann, is rumored to return in the latest film, and her bold makeup choices are always enviable. Most of the makeup found on the Pirates of the Caribbean characters involves contrast. Look for heavily rimmed eyes with curled lashes set against nude colored lips. Go bold with your shadow color—mauve is typically a solid choice. Skin is expected to be flawless, so concealer is a must to hide any blemishes. Finish with a gold shimmer to the cheeks.
Wonder Woman
If there was one word used to describe the makeup looks inspired by Wonder Woman, it would be “fierce.” The makeup looks are for those who aren’t afraid to be risk-takers. Start off with dramatic, well-defined brows, and thick lashes. Rim lash lines with a thick black liquid liner. Use a contouring powder to define the facial features. Red lips are Wonder Woman’s signature look, so be sure to choose a bright red matte lipstick, lined with a berry-colored liner.
Rough Night
Rough Night looks primed to be the next big female centric comedy, already being likened to Bridesmaids. Since each character is an archetype, you’ll find lots of different makeup looks to check out on the big screen. From Scarlett Johannson’s career driven bachelorette, with berry-colored lipstick and defined brows, to Kate McKinnon’s free-spirited character, with pink lips and cheeks. You’ll have no shortage of inspiration.
